2014-2015 PEP MSc STEM Scholarship at Teesside University in UK

Teesside University is offering MSc scholarships for studying STEM courses in 2014-2015 academic year. Recipients of the scholarships are required to participate in a small number of research activities with PEP, such as questionnaires and a telephone interview. Up to 25 one year scholarships for those studying full-time and up to 15 two years scholarships will be available for those choosing the part-time mode of study. Applicants must be entitled to an additional 10% off on course fees for the year if they are allocated the 60% or £1000 scholarship. The application deadline is 31th July, 2014.

About Scholarship: Teesside University is offering students that meet relevant eligibility criteria the opportunity to apply for a scholarship for certain postgraduate courses in 2014-15. The government-backed Postgraduate Experience Project (PEP) researches attitudes surrounding postgraduate study among UK citizens. Recipients of the scholarships are required to participate in a small number of research activities with PEP, such as questionnaires and a telephone interview. There are three types of scholarships available for those studying full-time and two for those choosing the part-time mode of study for the courses listed.

Study: Scholarships are only available to students enrolling on one of the following STEM courses: MSc Computing, MSc Civil Engineering, MSc Forensic Science, MSc Mechanical Engineering, MSc Petroleum Engineering, MSc Project Management, MSc Sport and Exercise (or MSc Strength and Conditioning).

Eligibility: You must:
-Be a British Citizen
-Be a resident of the United Kingdom
-Be a local resident or work locally
-Meet the course entry requirements

Scholarship Open for: Residents of UK (British Citizen) can apply for these MSc scholarships.

Number of awards: Up to 25 MSc scholarships will be available for those studying full-time and up to 15 MSc scholarships will be available for those choosing the part-time mode of study.

Duration: Full-time scholarships will be awarded for a period of one year. Part-time scholarships will be awarded for a period of two years.

Value:
Full time mode
-Full course fees paid for a 1 year MSc = 8 available
-60% of the course fees paid for a 1 year MSc = 7 available
-£1000 discount from the course fees for a 1 year MSc = 10 available
Part-time mode
-Full course fees paid for a  2 year MSc = 7 available
-60% of the course fees paid for a 2 year MSc = 8 available
You may also be entitled to an additional 10% off your course fees for the year if you are allocated the 60% or £1000 scholarship.

Selection Criteria: The scholarships will be randomly allocated for fairness and the process will meet the ethical requirements of the Project ensuring that all applicants have an equal chance of being awarded a scholarship.

Notification: The university aims to complete the process and confirm awards via email by 1st September 2014. Unsuccessful applicants will be informed via email by 5st September 2014.

Apply: Applications should be submitted via email to registry-at-tees.ac.uk. You only need to submit one application form as the type of scholarship will be randomly selected, but you need to ensure that you clearly state whether you are applying for the full-time or part-time mode of study.

Deadline: The application deadline is 31st July, 2014.
